Privacy Policy

afreemove.com (“afreemove.com,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is a property listing website for Houston and Dallas, powered by Ameritex Movers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use afreemove.com, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website and the emails we send. It does not apply to the websites of participating properties, realtors or other third parties that we link to.

Information we collect

Information you give us

Property enquiries and tour requests: your name, email address, phone number, message, preferred tour times, whether you are interested in the Free Move, and whether you agree to your details being shared with our moving partner.
Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, subject and message.
Newsletter and saved-search alerts: your email address, the page you signed up from, your search filters and how often you want alerts.
Partner and agent registration: your name, business email and phone number, company and billing details, license numbers, property and Free Move budget information, certificates of insurance and other documents you upload, your communication preferences (including any consent to text messages) and your acceptance of these policies.

Information collected automatically

Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit, collected in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
Interaction records: when you click a listing’s phone, email or website link we record the listing and the type of click with a one-way hashed IP address, so partners can see which listings get interest.
Cookies and similar technologies: described in Cookies, local storage and analytics below.

Information from partners

Participating properties and realtor partners provide listing details and may update us on the status of a Free Move referral (for example, that a lease was signed or a move was completed).

How we use your information

To send your enquiry or tour request to the property or realtor responsible for the listing, and to show them your Free Move interest.
To arrange a Free Move referral when you have given consent (see Free Move referrals).
To answer contact-form messages and provide site and partner support.
To send newsletters and saved-search alerts you have confirmed, and to honor unsubscribe requests.
To review, approve and manage partner and agent accounts, including vendor compliance checks.
To keep the site secure, prevent spam and fraud, and comply with the law.
With your permission, to understand how the site is used through analytics so we can improve it.

Free Move referrals and our moving partner

The Free Move is offered and funded by participating properties and realtor partners and carried out by Ameritex Movers. When you send an enquiry you can choose to share your details with our moving partner. If you do, and your lease or purchase qualifies, the property or realtor may send a referral containing your name, contact details, move addresses, estimated move date and household size so an Ameritex Movers team member can contact you to schedule your move. We record the date, time, wording and IP address of your consent.

Sharing your details for a Free Move referral may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” of personal information under some state privacy laws. You can withdraw your consent or opt out at any time (see Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information). If you opt out, the property can still answer your enquiry, but a Free Move referral cannot be made for you.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only:

With the property or realtor responsible for a listing you contact.
With our moving partner for a Free Move referral, when you have consented.
With service providers who help us run the site, such as hosting, email delivery, spam protection (for example Cloudflare Turnstile), maps (OpenStreetMap or Google Maps) and, with your consent, analytics. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
For legal reasons: to comply with law or legal process, to protect the rights, property and safety of our users, partners and others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

Embedded videos are shown using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set YouTube cookies until you play a video.

Cookies, local storage and analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies to run the site, such as a session cookie and a security token that protects forms. Some features store information only in your own browser (local storage) and never send it to us: your favorite properties, checklist ticks on our guides and your cookie choice.

With your permission we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics load only after you choose “Accept analytics,” and never when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can change your choice at any time.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) and similar state laws give you the right to:

know and access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a portable copy;
correct inaccurate personal information;
delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising;
limit the use of sensitive personal information; and
appeal our decision on a request.

Partners and agents can also request access to and deletion of their data from their account profile. To make a request, use our contact form or email us (details below). We will verify your identity before acting on a request and respond within 45 days; if we need more time (up to another 45 days) we will tell you why. You may use an authorized agent, and you can appeal a decision by replying to our response. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

We do not sell personal information for money. Because a Free Move referral to our moving partner may count as “sharing,” you can opt out by:

not ticking, or later withdrawing, the moving-partner consent on an enquiry;
using a browser or extension that sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we honor automatically for analytics; or
sending an opt-out request through our contact form or by email.

Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information

We do not ask website visitors for sensitive personal information. For partners and agents we collect account login credentials and professional license numbers, and we use them only to provide and secure your account and verify your business, as the law permits. If you believe we hold other sensitive information about you, you may ask us to limit its use through our contact form.

Emails and text messages

Newsletter and saved-search emails are sent only after you confirm your address (double opt-in). Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect promptly, and identifies afreemove.com as the sender, in line with the CAN-SPAM Act. We send text messages to partners only with their prior express written consent, as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA); reply STOP to opt out.

How long we keep information

Property enquiries: 24 months, then deleted or anonymized.
Declined partner applications: 12 months.
Contact-form messages: up to 24 months.
Newsletter and saved-search records: until you unsubscribe; we keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again.
Free Move referral and consent records: for as long as needed to show consent and meet our legal obligations.
Server logs: for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

How we protect information

We use HTTPS encryption, access controls, rate limiting on forms, and server-side storage of moving-partner integration details. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

afreemove.com is intended for adults looking for a home. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Links to other websites

Our site links to websites we do not control, such as participating properties, realtors and the Power to Choose website. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with its version number and date, and tell registered partners about material changes.
